America's children desperately need your help. Most of us are unaware that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday. Shockingly, 85 percent of these children are abused by someone they or their family knows and trusts.
Sadly, because of the 'taboo' nature along with trauma, fear, shame, misplaced loyalty and distrust associated with abuse, only ten percent of victims and survivors ever find the courage to report this crime.
Government statistics estimate that there are approximately 60 million survivors of childhood sexual abuse in America today. The reality is that childhood sexual abuse has reached national epidemic proportions that affect each and every one of us.
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Please help do your part to end child abuse and neglect forever. Donate to Rainbow House or get involved in our Go Blue! campaign.
Your organization or company decides—pay $1, $5 or $10 to Go Blue! By donating to wear denim, or just regular old blue one day this April, you’ll be doing your part to prevent child abuse and neglect throughout the nine counties Rainbow House serves in Missouri.

Child Abuse Prevention Month 2008
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Rainbow House makes a special effort during the month of April to work with the community in getting the message out about education and prevention in child abuse and neglect in Mid-Missouri.
