Volunteering

At times our own light goes out and is kindled by a spark from another person.  Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lightened the flame within us.” ~Albert Schweitzer~

Volunteers are essential to our existence and ability to serve the Columbia community and no amount of time donated goes unappreciated. Follow the steps below to start helping Rainbow House today!

Step Up & Volunteer With Rainbow House!

1:Download the Volunteer Application. Print, fill out, and attach a copy of your Social Security card to submit to Rainbow House for background check purposes.

Individuals must be 18 years old to volunteer. To meet Rainbow House licensing requirements, all volunteers must submit results of a general physical exam and a tuberculosis test. This examination must be performed by a licensed physician once every two years.

2: Call Rainbow House at 573.474.6600, or email at volunteer@rainbowhousecolumbia.org, to set up a time to meet.

Don't forget! You will need a copy of your driver's license and Social Security Card to complete your application!

Completing this application does not guarantee you a volunteer opportunity at RBH. Please allow for up to ten business days for your application to be processed. Once the application has been processed and approved, an RBH staff member will contact you.

ways to volunteer

We are open to suggestions as to other ways that we can enhance the lives of the children and families that we serve here at Rainbow House.  If you have a special talent or ability we would love to talk with you about that!

Group volunteer opportunities are available!

Some things are just better together! Whether you’re with your coworkers, friends, or fellow members of your civic organization, volunteering can be a great team-building experience.

How many people can we bring?

Due to space limitations in the House and concern for the privacy and well-being of our families, please limit your volunteer group to 15 or less.

We can also provide suggestions for projects that can be done at your workplace.
