Additional Services

Rainbow House provides a large spectrum of services in addition to the clinical services at the CAC and Children’s Emergency Shelter. The Child Advocacy Center works to improve collaboration among community agencies responsible for dealing with child abuse and endangerment cases and supports local programs aimed primarily at prevention of child abuse and neglect. The CAC also serves as a community resource center for educational materials and published works related to child abuse and neglect.

Court-mandated Parenting Skills Classes are offered throughout the year in eight-week sessions and taught by a licensed Rainbow House therapist.  Classes focus on healthy discipline and stress management for parents and utilizes the ”Parenting Piece by Piece” training curriculum, which addresses the following topics: child development education, stress and anger control skills, creative discipline and communication, effective reactions to challenging behaviors, locating community resources, and development of parent/child bond.
